  • Standing up proudly as Dance Educators of EDTA.
  • To encourage research and development in Dance and Theatre Arts, to assist Teachers with technical and further education in the Teaching of Dance and Drama.
  • To provide assessors and examiners for examinations in dance/drama schools
  • To focus on the student’s enjoyment of Dance and Drama, as well as its benefits, thus catering for the average dance student, as well as the talented.

The Association's ideals are to raise the quality of teaching in Dance and Theatre Arts. This requires consistent attitudes of self-improvement and professional integrity on the part of each member teacher.

The association provides continuing opportunities through refresher courses and seminars. Committees are also established in New South Wales and Queensland, composed of Teachers of Dance and Drama, to promote, protect and advance the EDTA status and interests of Dance and Theatre Arts generally, and encourage, foster, develop and promote honorable practice.
